Eric Matthew Leeworthy

A gifted athlete, Eric excelled on the basketball, baseball and golf teams at Galt High School before graduating in 2007. Eric was passionate about golf, a sport he embraced at age 7. You could often find Eric on the course with family and friends, perfecting his game.

Eric was a loyal friend to many and will always be remembered for his fun loving ways. He had an energetic, vibrant soul. His family and friends will miss him, his smile, his HUGS, and the joy he brought to them. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will cherish his memory.

Eric 19, passed away on October 7, 2008 in Lodi and had lived in Galt since 1997.

Eric Leeworthy Memorial Golf Tournament

Eric Leeworthy Memorial Golf Tournament is an annual fundraiser that provides funds for the Eric Leeworthy Memorial Scholarships. There are several options to participate including golfing, attending as a non-golfer, hole sponsorship, contest sponsorship, raffle prize donations, and cash contributions. In October 2021, the 12th Annual golf tournament saw a great turn out with 125 players playing at Mather Golf Course in Rancho Cordova.

There were five scholarships awarded in 2021. They went to Magdalena Ramirez and Luis Alvarado of Galt H. S. , Michael Gale and Annabella Siverling of Liberty Ranch H. S., and Andrew Kiehn from the JGANC.

Eric Leeworthy Memorial Scholarship (ELMS)

The Eric Leeworthy Memorial Scholarship was founded in 2009. By Doug and Diane Leeworthy in honor of their son Eric Leeworthy who tragically lost his life in an automobile accident in October of 2008.  Eric was a Member of the JGANC and in 2007 won 3 tournaments and was Point’s Champion. He played on the 2007 Hogan Cup Team and was a member of the Northern California All Stars team. Eric will be remembered as a great student and all-around athlete who exemplified the true spirit of sportsmanship, integrity, and honor. He was respected and admired by all who came in contact with him.
